Diaverum has inaugurated today two new dialysis centers in Santander that will start their activity on December 1st. With the start-up of these two new modern facilities, the company will begin operating in the Community of Cantabria, consolidating its leadership in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease in Spain.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. César Pascual, Regional Minister of Health of Cantabria, and attended by Ms. Gema Igual, Mayoress of Santander, Mr. Rafael Romanini, VP of Diaverum in Iberia, Latam and CEE, and Mr. José María Ordóñez, Director of Diaverum in Spain, and Mr. José María Ordóñez, Managing Director of Diaverum in Spain, and representatives of the Cantabrian Health Service, Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, Laredo Hospital and Sierrallana Hospital, ALCER Federation and ALCER Cantabria.
The Diaverum Santander Dialysis Center has a surface area of more than 1,500 square meters, distributed in 5 rooms and a total of 32 stations, which would allow a maximum of 192 patients to be treated. The Diaverum Santander II Dialysis Center, located just 5 minutes away, has a surface area of 700 square meters, distributed in 4 rooms and a total of 22 stations, which would allow a maximum of 132 patients to be treated.
Both centers have state-of-the-art equipment and facilities with the highest standards of functionality, safety and comfort, as well as being sustainable and environmentally friendly.
A broad, innovative and comprehensive care program will be carried out in coordination with reference hospitals, which also includes new programs to address and prevent prevalent pathologies in dialysis, through a holistic care model that considers aspects related to the patient's condition from a clinical point of view, but also taking into account the impact on quality of life and perception of care, all with the support of a solid digital infrastructure, which is committed to transparency and connectivity in the provision of the service.
